Bio Energy Myths

Biomass is any organic material which has stored sunlight in the form of chemical energy. As a fuel it may include wood, wood waste, straw, manure, sugar cane, and many other byproducts from a variety of agricultural processes. Bioenergy is Renewable Energy derived from biological sources like plants, can be used for heats, electricity, or as fuel in vehicles. Its production for fuel has bad implications for agriculture. It also can be used in gasoline blends. In USA most biofuel is ethanol, and is produced from corn. What could sources for ethanol? It is grain general, corn especial, sugar can, sugar beet, switch grass (for cellulosic ethanol), fruits and all bioproduces which contain sugar. Disadvantage of every renewable source of energy is that you must consume energy to produce it in classic form of use. Now lets see corn like source of ethanol. Heavy demand for ethanol guide to higher prices for corn. The result is reduction in corn used for livestock feed, the largest use of corn. Reduction of the exported amount very important for global markets. Result is that retail food prices are projected to increase. Result is that retail food prices are projected to increase.
Conclusion is that production of ethanol has an serious impact on agricultural and food sector.
